Dr. Lawrence T. Force, LCSW-R, Gerontologist
National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist

Philosophy

My clinical training is in the area of cognitive-behaviorism; I practice short-term Task-Centered Psychotherapy. I am of the belief that psychotherapy is one of the most effective tools for change - as long as you are willing to make a change. For some people, the idea and responsibility for change can be overpowering. I see my role, as a psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist, as a way to help you identify patterns in your life that you want to modify - act on...and act on them now. In my own life, for both personal and professional reasons, I too have participated in periods of psychotherapy. What have I found as a result? First, change can occur if you want it to. Second, you are responsible for your own behavior. And third, therapeutic intervention can be beneficial.
